Hey everyone,
After this last weekend's experience of losing my plane due to losing radio link, (there were indications of interference, but I flew anyway, so I guess it should be classified as "pilot error") I think I'd like to explore taking one factor out of the equation and going to 2.4. I already have a DX6i radio, need to know the best place to get JR/Spektrum receivers. Is there an on-line site that is better than others, or is the LHS ok on prices, does someone out there have some they are willing to sell, etc. Any advice is welcome.
Thanks
Dave W.

Dave,

I have found that the LHS is as good as anyplace after you factor in Shipping. Hobby King has some new 2.4 receivers that are supposed to be compatible with Spektrum but I have not tried them. I also think they are on backorder for now. If you decide to mail order, Advantage Hobby has the best price and lowest shipping that I have found.

Dave,
We are currently well stocked on Spektrum receivers. When you factor in the moving sale, they are more than fairly priced.

I agree with ryan.

When buying.... If it is a plane you care about. Get one with a satelite Rx liek the AR7000 or AR6200.
If it is a trainer or so.. the AR500 is full range as well and I trust them. They are the cheapest in cost Spektrum RX if you dont need 6-7 channels.

Be aware of deals too good to be true. (www.rcmodelreviews.com/fakespektrumreceivers.shtml) With electronics you usually get what you pay for, microcircuitry is not cheap to produce at a high quality level. I totally agree with Ryan, keep Alaskans employed!!

Thanks everyone,
I went to AHH this afternoon and got a Spektrum 6200. Now just need to solder together a 5-cell receiver pack.
