We would like to try flying Saturday if we had a runway report? Maybe we will have to be the first to inspect it. The snow is almost gone in Palmer so I would expect slush, mud, wet!!!!! Maybe we should bring some float planes!

The road, parking, and the strip are icy but smooth. I took my ice cleats and was glad. For other old guys with poor balance I recommend ice cleats, but the younger guys didn't seem to be having much trouble. Tom Parsley said he would pick up another bag or two of sand to spread around.

It was really nice today, hope it holds for tomorrow.

The current condition of the Wells Fargo flying site is good.

Casey and I spent some time today and got it ready for this sun fun fly. Hope to see you all out there!

The current condition 3/13/10

Runway and pit areas very good, smooth for wheels or skis. We spent a bit of time today making what Daryl did better. Conditions for flying today was very good, mild wind and sunny skies!
And NO BUGS!
Hope to see more of you tomorrow! Heck I might even bring a plank

Went flying yesterday, nice day, the light was a little flat but gentle winds, high 20's. I experimented with my FlyCamOne2 and got some video and some stills. I learned that the lens perspective is close to human eye, I thought it would be more wider, so I have to have more altitude and fly in wider circles.

In still mode it takes one shot every 4 seconds, so out of 90 photo's these 2 are the only keepers, BARELY. I had to rotate the image to upright and crop it, the yellow borders couldn't be avoided because of the limitations of my software. The horizontal lines are caused by the prop.

Future pic's will be better. I hope

Mike Marsh called me at 1:30 today to say that it was 37* and flat calm at Wells Fargo. So we both loaded up and met out there around 2:00. I never put on my coat just wore a sweatshirt. Sun was out and it was the best day this winter. Just thought I would rub it in a little.

Mike maidened his new little Texan and it took off and landed with those little wheels without incident.

We might try again Wednesday if the weather holds.

Daryl

You guys are lucky, it must be nice to be retired. I stuck my head out of the office this afternoon and realized what a nice day it was. Enjoy your retirement while you can because this current administration is bent on ruining mine, that is if I even live to see it.
